Hi, I’m Lauren LaBelle, the founder of Laurinnovations.

My creative journey began with my children and my love of rhyme. I wanted to combine the two into something meaningful, which led me to create the ABC Explorers children’s book series.

As I continued creating, I found myself coming up with unconventional ideas and creative solutions to problems I noticed around me. While a few of those patented ideas are a part of Laurinnovations, they are not my primary focus.

My biggest focus is helping homeless families with children.

I have experienced homelessness twice in my life — once at 17 and again after the end of a 19-year marriage. I have seen firsthand how difficult it is to find help that provides a real pathway forward. Too often, available resources provide temporary relief without addressing the circumstances that keep families struggling.

Not having a safe place to sleep or a bed to tuck your children into at night is something no family should have to experience.

That is why I created my Housing Initiative: a model designed to provide homeless families with children with rent-free transitional housing for up to two years, along with the support and resources they need to become stable and ultimately transition into a single-family home with their children.

My goal is to develop a formula that communities and cities can eventually adapt and implement in their own areas.

My background is just as unconventional as my ideas. I worked in the medical field for approximately 12–13 years, later opened a commercial cleaning company, obtained my real estate license, and started a property preservation company servicing foreclosed homes for banks.

Today, I’m taking everything I’ve learned, along with my ability to think outside the box, and putting it toward creating solutions that can make a difference.
